Town Hall
The city hall of La Rochelle is considered one of the most beautiful city halls in France. Discover the history of this magnificent city hall. Despite a fire in 2013, all the treasures contained in the Town Hall were saved from the flames and water. Découvrez l’histoire de ce magnifique hôtel de ville. Malgré un incendie survenu en 2013 l’ensemble des trésors contenus dans l’Hôtel de Ville a pu être sauvé des flammes et de l’eau. Derrière son haut mur d'enceinte gothique surmonté d'une tour beffroi, cet édifice emblématique de la cité recèle de nombreux souvenirs, parmi lesquels ceux qui touchent au siège, la salle des Echevins, la grande salle des fêtes et le cabinet Jean Guiton avec sa table de marbre légendaire. Journées du patrimoine : Marais de Tasdon
A deux pas du centre-ville, venez prendre un bol d’air dans le marais de Tasdon, vaste milieu naturel doté d’une flore et d’une faune remarquable qui s’étend sur 124 ha. Au fil de l’eau, votre guide vous dévoilera l’histoire de ce lieu autrefois exploité pour son sel et qui en 2020 a fait l’objet d’importants travaux de renaturation afin de redonner vie au marais de façon qu’il joue à nouveau son rôle écologique de « puits de carbone bleu ». Accompagné de votre guide, partez pour une échappée à bicyclette ! Depuis l’Office de Tourisme, rejoignez le quartier des Minimes en longeant le bord de mer. Vous y découvrirez son Port de Plaisance, sa plage et ses parcs aux influences méditerranéennes. La balade se poursuit par la découverte du plateau nautique et de ses différents chantiers navals, face au France 1, l’imposante frégate météorologique, pour finir en beauté sur le Vieux Port face aux célèbres tours de La Rochelle.
